Resistance to Change Isn’t Always About Fear

Sometimes, it’s about lack of energy.

I know that things in my life need to change. I know specifically what I want to change, and how I want it to change.

But I’m still resisting that change.

When I look deep inside myself, it’s not about fear.

It’s about not having enough energy to make those changes right now.

Transformation doesn’t come without effort. And not just a little effort. Sustained effort.

It takes a lot of energy to break through your patterns and mold a new way of being for yourself, and sometimes, you’re not going to have the energy to do that.

If it’s about energy, you’re not going to be able to force yourself through it. All the coaching tricks in the world won’t do it. Journal until you’ve flogged yourself raw with your own words, and you’ll still be stuck. Pray, do magic, beg the Universe to do something, anything. If you’re out of energy because all your energy is going to surviving, you’re not going to be able to force yourself into something else.

Instead, you have to shift your focus from change to energy. To finding ways to restore the energy that you’re spending to survive. To find ways to spend less energy.
